Silver Bangle Charm Bracelets

Nautical Charm Bangle Bracelets, $25 each

Now that we're into the bitter cold January weather, it's the perfect time to remember summer. Remember how warm you were? Remember being out on your boat, walking around outside without a jacket on?

Simple Starfish Charm Bracelet, $25

Well I do. At least, I try to. With the newest line of silver charm bangles, I think summer can be worn every day. With Christmas over, there are still birthdays, anniversaries - (and don't forget Valentine's Day, which will be here before you know it!) all perfect times to give her a beautiful and elegant piece of jewelry - that's not only handmade by a local artist, but won't break the bank.

Bangle secures by squeezing the hook to secure over the ball.
Because of their simplicity, they are the perfect piece for any outfit. You can see from the image above that you simply squeeze the bracelet together to secure or remove the hook over the silver ball to hold the bangle in place. Very sturdy, and nearly impossible to lose!

There are several nautical charm bracelets available: starfish, quahog shell, scallop shell, anchor, and sailboat charms. Visit the Ash Tree Designs online store, the 6 In the Shipyard retail location, or contact me to order your piece, or talk about other charm options that you may have your heart set on ;)

Silver Starfish Necklaces

Silver Starfish Necklace, $18
I'm so pleased with the popularity of these silver starfish pendants during the holiday season. Everyone loves starfish, and with a simple and elegant piece like this, MEGA MONDAY customers can't seem to get enough!

There are two versions of this necklace that I am featuring both in my Ash Tree Designs Shop, and in the retail store location 6 In the Shipyard. The version I introduced first, pictured above, took off immediately. It featured an antiqued pewter silver starfish pendant with long, skinny arms: it's hidden bail makes it seem to "float" on the necklace (okay...maybe nautical pun intended...) I have these starfish pendants on white, black, and even pink rolled leather necklaces, which are strong cords with a beautiful finished look.

Puffed Out Silver Starfish Necklaces, $15 each

I also created a slightly smaller and less expensive version of this pendant, pictured above. This antiqued pewter starfish is slightly puffed out, and very cute available on pink, black, and white necklaces. They've made great stocking stuffers for our 6 In the Shipyard clients, and because they are limited edition I've sold nearly half my stock already. They also make a great compliment to the brilliant Swarovski Crystal Starfish Necklaces ($18 in Bermuda Blue and Clear) that I also have available.

Recycled Sail Women's Wallet

Women's recycled sail wallet, $39
Women's recycled sail wallet, now available for purchase online! I bought this wallet a few years ago, and was fascinated by its structure. I studied it, broke it down into a pattern, and created this expansion of the recycled sail product line: the Women's Sail Wallet.

Though my Tri-Fold Recycled Sail Wallet isn't necessarily exclusive to men (it's actually in fact more unisex), I was envisioning this one as being a bit more glamorous, and ideally a great complement with one of my recycled sail Bowline Bags. The Tri-Fold Wallet is also very popular, and I'd love to see something a little bit different with a touch more fashion, like this style, take off!

As always, I embroidered a few numbers on the front: for the next wallet, I'll probably do only 2 numbers and have them be a bit larger. I chose navy because I feel like it looks the best on the stark white of the sail, but have also embroidered the numbers in both Hunter Green and Red.

Like this item? Buy the sail wallet at my Etsy shop! Don't forget to browse through the other Recycled Sail Products I have available for sale.

The holidays will also be here before you know it, and my orders are starting to come in! Contact me to create a custom wallet - makes a great gift for the sailor or nautical person in your life :)

Seaglass Rings

Seaglass Rings, $12 are one of my favorite products that I offer. They are a huge hit at jewelry parties and craft shows, because I keep them inside a real shell "bowl" where customers can try them on until they find the one that fits them. I recently had the opportunity to make a custom ring last month through an order placed on Ash Tree Creations, and wanted to remind my followers that this is a total possibility.

I use found sea glass from my collection from the Boston Islands over the years. My rings are made with silver plate wire to keep the price reasonable, and no two rings are the same. If you'd like a Custom Seaglass Ring made just for you, please contact me with your ring size and preferred sea glass color and I will hand-wrap it for you!

Seaglass Pendants

Since I just finished an order for a Custom Seaglass Ring today, I figured I'd do a quick feature on my Seaglass Necklaces that I have available. As some of you know already, I do some work with sea glass that I used to find with my family when I was younger: we literally had bags and bags of what we found on the beaches. I recently decided to try and make these memories into some beautiful jewelry pieces, by wrapping them with silver plated wire (pictured here is a "cage" wire-wrapping technique) and stringing them onto a cord.

I usually try and create a pop with a brightly colored cord, although I have done pieces that are more subtle with a black satin or woven cord. The blue that is pictured is actually suede - saw it at Michael's and couldn't resist :) These necklaces are super popular when I have jewelry shows - they add a touch of summer to any outfit.

Want to see if I have a certain color? Need a custom piece for an upcoming birthday? Pissed that I apparently didn't wear enough sunscreen earlier in the day when I modeled this piece? Let me know!

Handmade Recycled Sail Wallets

I thought it would be a great idea to do talk a bit about my famous sail wallets, as I have just sold my 8th wallet from my online Etsy Store! (Yeah, okay, 8 is no 10, but I think it's a big deal. So yay for me.)

These wallets are handmade recycled sail wallets, and are available with custom embroidery numbers of your choice. This assures you that not only are no two wallets the same, but you can really make it "yours" by choosing your color and number! The colors available are red, navy (my favorite, and I think looks the best...) and hunter green, and you can have up to 4 numbers embroidered - you can see the machine in action embroidering a piece of sailcloth, above!

I currently have 3 types of sail wallets available in my shop, to suit three different price points and styles. There is the simple clutch recycled sail wallet, below which can hold a check book or cash, and has 5 pockets to hold credit cards.

Then there is the simple (and most popular!) tri-fold handmade recycled sail wallet (pictured below). I think people like this one because it is the most unisex. It has a see-through (made from racing sail!) pocket for a license, and 2 sets of 3 pockets each on the other two sections, which both pull pack to hold additional stuff. Then, of course, all of it is sewn outside of the larger pocket for cash!

My last eco-friendly wallet was actually modeled after a wallet I bought my brother in Italy. It has some slight modifications, of course, but it is essentially the same. It's a handmade recycled sail bi-fold wallet!. The special sauce? I actually sewed a CHANGE POCKET which is secured by velcro! Amazing!

These handmade wallet styles are all available in my Ash Tree Etsy Shop, with more ideas being cooked up every day. Click through the wallet links to check out some more pictures, or browse through the other great options for handmade nautical gifts.

Have a wallet you'd like to see? I'd love to get some recommendations or even feedback!!

The tide shirt has the tide charts for Boston Harbor (which also works for surrounding towns) UPSIDE DOWN - that is, so it can be read from the wearer's point of view!!! See example of this with model, below.

Which also happens to be my dad in all of his awesome ridiculousness :)

This is a great gift idea for the boater in your life, male or female, and can be an excellent, and humorous, Father's Day gift!! Get yours today, to kick off YOUR boating season.

Available in all sizes, and several colors; including blue, yellow, nautical red, blue, white, lime green, olive, light blue, and purple. Sail WALLETS!

So I have been creating Bowline Bags Crazzzy like, and I had a ton of scraps, because you have to cut the sail a certain way in relation to the unique shape. And as an avid green-er, I hate waste. SO, I needed to get creative and make something with the scraps - I'm still churning an idea for a smaller Bowline Bag, but in the meantime I have come up with Sail Wallets!

I actually took my brother's wallet and studied it for a while. I took measurements, and came up with a pattern and stitching order. It requires very little material, so my scraps were definitely put to good use! So the final product is a tri-fold wallet, and has 6 Initial card pockets, that each pull back to hold additional cards - (I even included a "see through" pocket on the far left that can hold your license! I used the Racing sail material for this part)

The wallets are made from two types of recycled sails from a 30 'sailboat, the see-through (used for the inside) and typical canvas. I thought it would be cool if numbers were available on the outside of the wallet, and since the numbers are huge and found only on a certain part of the sail, I decided to embroider them. And, how cool would it be if you could choose your own numbers? Even though I have a few wallets made up in stock, I accept customizations with the numbers. I have discerned that red and navy (especially NAVY) look great embroidered on the canvas. 2 numbers also look the best, although I have done 3.

I also can attach Velcro if specified to help keep the wallet shut. But some guys do not really care, and keep it in their pockets anyway.

Click here for my Etsy listing and to get a sail of your own wallet:)

They are very nautical, and boaters love 'em!
