Commissioned Artwork

Wow, you're amazing. I picked up the picture today and we all love it! You are so talented I can't believe how great it came out. I can't thank you enough for doing it so quickly." - Michele Hynes, commissioned drawing in August 2010
Looking for a unique gift for a special event, like a birthday or holiday? How about that something extra that will give a WOW factor to the recipient? Consider commissioning a piece of artwork!

Charcoal and pencil drawings are the most popular and the most affordable commissioned pieces that I do, as they take the least amount of time, and the classic look of black and white is not only easily framed, but matches every decor.

Pastels and pen and ink pointillisms also available.

I can work with any approved hard-copy photograph, and can create an image to fit any standard frame size. I recommend 8"x10" or higher for drawings, as I can achieve more detail. Don't have time to frame? If you cover expenses, I can frame it for you!

Subjects and Gift Ideas:

I have drawn everything from landscapes, to houses, to portraits - this flexibility makes commissioned pieces such a great gift idea, as they can be customized to fit your needs!

  • Housewarming party? Order a drawing, then take bring it to any paper goods store to make note cards with your image on the front!
  • Wedding? Get your favorite image of the happy couple and have a drawing made from it. Makes a great, unique wedding gift framed!
  • Birthday? Capture this moment in time with a custom drawing: can be done from any baby pictures, high school photo, or any favorite candid!
The possibilities are endless!

I do not charge by the size, but rather by the amount of time it takes me to complete a piece. The going rate is $20 per hour, so drawings can start for $85 each, and can have a turn around time in as little as 1 week, and for those in a rush I have an optional rush charge available. Additionally, with my "half now, half when completed" payment plan, this makes any project easily affordable!

You''ll also rest easy with my Freelance Contract to assure that your work will be completed to the highest quality.

I recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts from the Museum School of Fine Arts in conjunction with Tufts University. I have been doing commissioned artworks for 8+ years in a variety of subjects, specialties and media. References available upon request.
