Bridal Shower Gift: Dinner Napkins with Embroidered Initials

I just recently returned from a quick trip to Florida, where - as Maid of Honor - I attended my best friend's Bridal Shower that was being thrown by a close family friend. She's having a destination wedding, so things like showers and Bachelorette parties are hard to put together. Don't worry: the Bachelorette party happened and it was good.
Embroidered Napkins, Dock This Way
I wanted to give a gift for the shower. Nothing too crazy, because finances are tight, but something just to show that I care about her and that hopefully convey that I put some thought into it. While doing calligraphy on her wedding invitations, the invites were green and orange in color - green is the Bride's favorite color, and orange is her fiance's.

So I found these beautiful orange dinner napkins that absolutely screamed her name. Because my mother and I have owned an embroidery business going on 5 years now, now Dock This Way located in Hingham, I designed an "H" that I thought she would like, then matched her invitation colors as best I could to get the final result. These make a great wedding gift if you are struggling for ideas or want to do something personal!

We've worked with clients all over the country, so if you are in need of some custom embroidery services like monogrammed napkins, contact me today to get started on your project!

"Positivity: One Word"

From the new line of Dock This Way and Ash Tree;
"Positivity: One Word"

We wanted to create an item that promoted positive thinking and concepts.
Using the Papyrus font, which is this rustic font that is totally awesome-looking, we place "one word" on the front of a 100% organic t-shirt. The shirts are super comfy and lightweight, and are super casual - perfect for that yoga-lover or gym-goer. I used chocolate brown thread on pale blue t-shirt. Blue not your color? We also have ice blue thread on chocolate brown!

Buy yours today - available in all sizes.

Other words available:
PEACE
HOPE
INSPIRE
DREAM
LOVE
GRACE

Simple, positive message; and it's green, too! (Well, not literally.) Yay!

Rune Necklaces

"Success" Rune Necklace - Jera, $15
Looking for a look that is a bit different? These rune necklaces evolved from my horoscope necklaces, where I was really excited about the simplicity in the symbolism.

For example, pictured above is the rune, Jera. Jera can be either J or Y: and largely symbolizes a year, or a good harvest. The results of earlier efforts are realized. A time of peace and happiness, fruitful season. It can break through stagnancy. Hopes and expectations of peace and prosperity. The promise of success earned. Life cycle, cyclical pattern of the universe. Everything changes, in its own time. (Whoa, deep.)

"Hope" Rune Necklace - Dagaz, $15
Purchase this edgy rune necklace to carry with you the qualities it embodies.

Charm was handmade out of iridescent pearl polymer clay, rune was painted in black ink, and sprayed with a gloss finish. Rune charm strung from a black rolled leather cord measures approx. 17", and secured with a lobster clasp.

Below are all the runes and their meanings: all of which are available! Check back frequently for more pendant colors and designs.

In Loving Memory: PurpleHeart

I wanted to create a line in memory of my grandfather, Raymond J. Wysocki, an Iwo Jima survivor and Purple Heart participant. He passed away while I was abroad, in September, and he continues to be on my mind and in my heart.

In light of his service and passion for his country, I create the purple heart line. This is going to be marketed and distributed as the Positivity: OneWord and Tide Shirts have been, but my vision is on a much larger scale. I want to enact a financial plan that will allow me to donate a portion of all sales to wounded veterans and their families, ideally through Soldier's Angels - the great organization I rejoined last month after a year break.

After the first marketing research phase as "PurpleHart", which was a graphic design decision, I decided to go with the correct spelling. (That, and I was sick of doo-dahs saying, "You know 'heart' is spelled wrong, right?" ((insert snooty remark here))

The design is embroidered on 100% organic tshirts, bags, and military caps. I decided the writing portion was too much on the tshirts and hats, so it's completely on the bags, which are funky designs and in coordinating color schemes of tan, brown, and green. I've got a great-quality messanger bag that I'm completely in love with and use all the time, and there's also a chocolate brown bucket bag, and a green tote.

The hats are tan, gray, and camo, all sporting the simple Purple Heart graphic, as do the t-shirts. We've also got a great hoodie that we're eyeing and threw some skulls on at the moment because the sizing was a bit too big.

I'll keep you posted as the Purple Heart line continues to develop. Please check back in and see how you can help and when the different products are available for purchase at my etsy site. Thank you!

"Whenever I feel the urge to exercise, I lie down until it passes."

Ha HA. This came out of a good friend's mouth and I put it on a BLANKET! A very cozy, fleece blanket, and I made my ancient beagle, Sophie, pose with it because she sleeps all day every day all the time.

We have all sorts of snarky sayings that are just BEGGING to be thrown on something. We have been really successful with this blanket, too:

Add a little attitude with an awesome throw to your couch or favorite reading chair. The blankets are those super-soft fleeces that are cozy and warm, but not heavy-so you can use them in the dead of winter or to throw over you on a cool summer night. At the very least, they will be be an excellent conversation piece :)

Here's the etsy listing,

I'm always looking for new, ORIGINAL sayings. If you have a particularly awesome one, shoot me an email and if it passes the very sophisticated test that I have in place, I will design and embroider a fleece for you and send it to you...FREE! How awesome is that?!?

Good luck!!

Share and Enjoy!
